New hires

The Hews Co. LLC, a truck body and equipment sales company in South Portland, hired Jim Hews as COO. Hews was previously a project manager for new equipment development with Micron Technologies in Boise, Idaho.

Maine Community Bank in Westbrook hired Lisa Hughes as vice president, senior business banking officer III.

Portland Ovations hired Jamie Barilone as development manager. Barilone was previously a fulltime substitute teacher at Portland High School.

Coastal Mountains Land Trust in Camden hired Tempe Landi as development and communications coordinator. Most recently, Landi was with Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hired Randy Manzo as branch relationship manager in Orono. Manzo was previously branch manager at University Credit Union in Orono.

Gorham Savings Bank hired Dimitri Michaud as COO. Michaud was previously COO for HealthInfoNet, Maine’s statewide health information exchange.

Mission Broadband, a broadband consulting firm in Bangor, hired Margaret Brown as project manager. Brown was with OTELCO.

Kennebec Savings Bank hired Stephanie Purnell as branch manager at the bank’s Waterville Main Street location. Purnell has 16 years of banking experience.

The Portland Museum of Art hired Ramey Mize as assistant curator of american art. Mize was previously the Lois and Arthur Stainman research assistant in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s American Wing.

Fontaine Family – The Real Estate Leader hired Aaron Stanley as a licensed sales agent in Auburn.

Promotions

The Hews Co. LLC, a truck body and equipment sales company in South Portland, promoted Drew Hews to corporate vice president of operations. Hews was most recently branch manager of the company’s Bow, N.H., operations.

Medical Mutual Insurance Co. of Maine in Portland promoted Charles Johnson to lead software security engineer. Johnson previously served as senior software developer.

New Dimensions Federal Credit Union in Waterville promoted Kyle O’Rourke to commercial loan officer.

Appointments

Ken Albert, president and CEO of Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice in Lewiston, was elected to serve as chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Association for Home Care and Hospice.

The Ogunquit Museum of American Art named Carol Leary as president, Edward Newberry as vice president, Allyson Cavaretta as secretary and Alan Shepard as treasurer of its board of directors. In addition, the museum added Ashley Benecchi, Richard Benefield, Elizabeth Cutler, Annie de Cossy Forsyth, Javier Marin and Karyn Sharf Morin as new board members. Benecchi is a long-form editorial producer for ABC News, Benefield is executive director of the George Rickey Foundation, Cutler is manager of content development at IDG Communications Inc. and Community Leader of ROAR, Forsyth is founder of Opus Advisors LLC, Marin is an entrepreneur, investor and media proprietor and Morin is a senior vice president at Partners Bank.

Achievements

Verrill, a law firm in Portland, announced that Roger Clement Jr., partner, was recognized in the “2022 Lawdragon 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers” for excellence in his practice.

Champion the Cure Challenge recognized its 2022 honorees. Anita Peavey Haskell was named “Honorary Chair;’ Clayton Cole and Kim White, “Terry Fox Award;” Nikki More, “Employee Champion;” Osborne Media, “Corporate Champion;” Peggy Brown, “Volunteer of the Year;” Fishing for a Cure, “Community Champion;” and Boy Scouts Troop 1 Brewer, “Youth Champion.”

Dove Tail Bat Co. in Shirley was named “Best of Show” and “One of 10 Top New Products” by Collegiate Baseball for its metal bats with ProXR technology.

The Maine Downtown Center, a program of Maine Development Foundation in Hallowell, announced awards for three projects and individuals that made the biggest impacts in its Main Street and Affiliate communities in the past year. Winners included: Heather Pouliot, board president, of Augusta Downtown Alliance, “Downtown Hero Award;” Friends of Woodfords Corner, “Downtown Project Award;” and Rockland Main Street, “Innovation Award.”
