New hires

Eastern Maine Development Corp. in Bangor hired Amy Collinsworth as director of Katahdin Region economic development. Collinsworth was previously a project coordinator for General Dynamics Bath Iron Works.

MedRhythms Inc., a digital therapeutics company in Portland, hired Elvir Mujanovic as vice president of finance and Katharine Nason as senior talent acquisition specialist. Mujanovic was previously vice president of finance and administration at Malta Inc., a grid-scale energy storage company, while Nason was most recently with Simon-Kucher & Partners, a global consulting firm.

Atlantic Federal Credit Union Insurance in South Portland hired Stacey Chenevert as president/CEO. Chenevert was previously senior vice president of retail at Atlantic Federal Credit Union and an advisor to the insurance agency.

General Dynamics hired Charles Krugh as president of General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. Krugh was previously vice president for supplier operational support at Gulfstream Aerospace.

Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, a luxury real estate company in Portland, hired Randy Miller as a real estate professional in Damariscotta and Alan DiStasio as a real estate professional in New Hampshire. Miller was previously president and owner of Newcastle Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram-Viper while DiStasio was CEO of Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty.

Maine Maritime Museum in Bath hired Catherine Cyr as exhibition coordinator. Cyr previously was involved in all areas of museum operation at Pejepscot History Center.

Simons Architects in Portland hired Ellen Jordan as office manager, Nathan Gabel as marketing coordinator and Amelia Golini as staff architect.

The Maine Bankers Association in Westbrook hired Josh Steirman as director of government relations. Most recently, Steirman served as vice president and senior credit officer at Gorham Savings Bank.

UScellular hired Roderick Pinkney as store manager in Brewer.

The Onion Foundation, a charitable organization founded in 2014 by Maine technology entrepreneur Frederick “Fritz” Onion and his wife Susan Onion, hired Diana Morris as executive director. Morris previously served as a strategic advisor to the Baltimore-based Nova Institute for Health.

Burgess Advertising & Marketing in Falmouth hired Tyler Cadorette as an account manager. Cadorette most recently was a customer/client liaison at Unum Insurance Co.

Green Tree Events in Saco hired Linda Ruth as events coordinator. Ruth was most recently with Martin’s Point Health Care.

Camden National Bank hired Christopher Hutchinson as senior vice president, corporate controller. Previously, Hutchinson served as director of corporate accounting at WEX Inc.

Maine State Credit Union in Augusta hired Ariel Carron as a marketing specialist, Nichole Lee as branch manager in Waterville, Jason Hilt as vice president of finance and Chris Kovacs as vice president of commercial lending for the Portland market. Carron was previously at Downeast Toyota, Lee at Camden National Bank, Hilt at Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union and Kovacs at Bank of America.

Promotions

Whitten Architects, a residential architectural firm in Portland, promoted Tom Lane and Will Fellis to its leadership team. Lane and Fellis are associates with the firm.

Gorham Savings Bank promoted Julie Brooks to chief risk officer. Brooks, who has 30 years of banking experience, most recently served as senior vice president, senior risk officer.

Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park promoted Shannon O’Brien to science engagement coordinator. O’Brien was previously science engagement assistant.

Catholic Charities Maine in Portland promoted Jessika Morin to medical director of its Behavioral Health Network. Morin, a Board-certified practitioner of family medicine, was most recently the residential medical physician and medical director of the substance use disorder program at the organization’s St. Francis Recovery Center in Auburn.

UScellular promoted Steven Nash to sales manager in Ellsworth. Nash was previously an assistant manager in Brewer.

Maine Community College System in Augusta promoted Liz Russell to president of Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. Russell is currently vice president of academic affairs at the college.

The University of Maine System appointed Joseph McDonnell as interim president of the University of Maine at Farmington for a two-year term that begins July 1. McDonnell currently is a professor of policy, planning and management in the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine.

The Boulos Co. in Portland promoted Micki Francombe to vice president of administrative operations. Francombe most recently served as assistant office manager while serving her brokerage team in an administrative capacity.

Geiger, a promotional products distributor in Lewiston, promoted Alicia Doyle to senior talent acquisition specialist in the human resources department, Nicole Ross to digital advertising strategist in Crestline and Tara Villanueva to national service director in the Total Care Service department.

Diversified Communications, an international media company in Portland, promoted Christina Henderson to event director. Henderson most recently served as event manager.

Appointments

Skowhegan Savings elected Sam Hight to its board of directors. Hight is the dealer principal of Hight Ford in Skowhegan and Hight Chevrolet in Farmington, part of the Hight Family of Dealerships. In addition, the bank added Alicia Bell, vice president and owner, Northern Lights Maine; Kristina Cannon, executive director, Main Street Skowhegan; Liz Fontaine, owner, Lakehome Group Real Estate; Suresh Gali, managing member, New Gen Hospitality Management; and Trampus King, town manager, town of Dexter, as corporators.

Downtown Ellsworth, a community revitalization group, nominated Maggie Iannuzzi and Timothy Tunney as members at large on the Heart of Ellsworth board of directors. Iannuzzi is co-owner of Precipice Coffee while Tunney is a commercial loan officer at Franklin Savings Bank.

Achievements

Acadia National Park awarded three fellowships as part of Second Century Stewardship, an initiative of the National Park Service, Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park and the National Park Foundation. The 2022 Second Century Stewardship Fellows are Matthew Duveneck, liberal arts faculty at New England Conservatory and Research Associate, Harvard Forest; Nicole Kollars, postdoctoral researcher at Northeastern University; and Richard Vachula, assistant professor at Auburn University.

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Portland announced that April Ylvisaker Tardiff, senior vice president and wealth advisor, was ranked No. 2 in Maine on the 2022 Forbes Magazine’s “America’s Top Women Wealth Advisors – Best-in-State” list and Forbes Best in state advisors.

PC Construction in Portland said it won a “Best Builders Award” from AGC Maine for the Brunswick Health Care Center, a state-of-the-art patient clinic for Martin’s Point Health Care.

R.M. Davis, a private wealth management firm in Portland, announced that John Doughty was selected to join the membership of the Boston Economic Club. Doughty is chief investment officer with the firm.

Experience Maine, a travel concierge and event planning company in Cumberland Center, and Seawick Candle in Richmond were recognized by Google as the 2020 and 2021 small business of the year in the annual Google Economic Impact Report.

Stephanie French, an account manager with the business insurance team at Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, earned the Certified Marine Insurance Professional designation from the International Institute for Marine Insurance Studies. In addition, Abraham Dugal, a financial advisor at the firm, achieved the designation of Certified Financial Planner professional.

Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington said that Katrina Gervais, ambulatory nursing, Melody Hill, hospital-based nursing, and Karla D’Alessendro, direct care professional, received “Nursing and Direct Care Professionals Excellence Awards” and Michael Senecal, director of NorthStar EMS, received the “Partnership in Caring Award.”

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor recognized numerous employees during National Hospital Week. Recipients included: Dawn Andrews, “Caring Spirit Overall - Highest Award;” Cassidy Parady, “Rookie Caring Spirit Overall;” Kim Moreau, “Caring Spirit – Guiding the Way;” Chris Luthin, “Caring Spirit – Seeing the Individual;” Shannon Jagger, “Caring Spirit – Raising Quality;” Taylor Desmond, “Caring Spirit – Making Access Easy;” and the Swab and Go Team of Shelley Ryan, Christa Balmas, Lorri Cameron-Dow and Tammy Violette, “Caring Spirit – Team.” In addition, Lisa Dorr received the “DAISY Nurse Leader Award” and Ruth Dow, Grace Jordan, Starsha Rizzo and Morgan Russell were named “SUNSHINE Award” winners.

Catholic Charities Maine in Portland announced that it earned national re-accreditation through the Washington, D.C.-based Council on Accreditation, an independent, not-for-profit accreditor of community-based behavioral health care and social service organizations.

Hollywood Casino in Bangor said it was certified as a “Best Place for Working Parents,” a Maine Department of Economic and Community Development program endorsed by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and local chambers.

Main Street America announced that Heart of Biddeford received the “Great American Main Street Award,” which recognizes communities for excellence in comprehensive preservation-based commercial district revitalization.

The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit watchdog organization that serves as a voice for health care consumers and purchasers, announced that Central Maine Medical Center, Maine Medical Center, Maine General Medical Center, MaineHealth dba Southern Maine Healthcare, Mid Coast Hospital, Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital and Northern Light Inland Hospital all earned an A in its “Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades.”
