Newsworthy people and performances for Sept. 7, 2020

New hires

Maine Source Homes & Realty in Auburn hired Linda Dupuis as a broker-Realtor. Dupuis has been a Realtor in the Lewiston-Auburn and midcoast areas for 18 years.

NBT Bank in Portland hired Wayne Morphew as senior business banking officer. Morphew most recently served as business relationship manager for People’s United Bank.

Maine Maritime Academy in Castine hired Keith Williamson as vice president for academic affairs. Williamson currently serves as dean of the School of Business and Technology at Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Mass.

Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park hired Peter Nelson as forest ecology director. Nelson previously served as associate professor at the University of Maine-Fort Kent.

Maine Behavioral Healthcare in South Portland hired Kelly Barton as president. Barton is vice president, integrated primary care at Community Health Network in Indianapolis, Ind. and is scheduled to start her new position in October.

The Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission in Saco hired Raegan Young as a community planner and outreach specialist.

Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston hired June Usher Wallace as vice president, Southern Maine market manager; Garrett Ryan as vice president, senior mortgage loan officer; and Lisa Hook as senior vice president, senior commercial banking manager. Wallace was previously vice president and senior relationship manager at Bangor Savings Bank, Ryan was senior mortgage loan originator at Citizens Bank and Hook was senior commercial relationship manager, senior vice president at People’s United Bank.

Amplify Additive in Scarborough hired Jeff Laniewski as vice president of operations and Andre Clement as industrial designer. Laniewski most recently taught entrepreneurship and business marketing classes to high school students in Arizona while Clement owned and operated Clement Collaborative Design.

The University of Maine School of Law in Portland hired Scott Bloomberg and Duane Rudolph as associate professors, Gregory Bordelon as director of academic success and an associate professor, Jessica Feinberg as a professor of law and Laura Underkuffler as a visiting professor. Bloomberg was previously an attorney at Foley Hoag in Boston; Bordelon was a professor of practice and the director of bar success at the University of Baltimore School of Law; Feinberg was a professor at Mercer Law School; Rudolph was a visiting assistant professor of law at Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China; and Underkuffler is the J. DuPratt White Professor of Law at Cornell Law School.

CEI, a Brunswick-based community lending and economic development nonprofit, hired Molly Gerencer as loan and investment officer, Mary Cay Harrington as fund accountant, Grace Mo-Phillips as business advisor, John Michael Nadeau as senior accountant and Nikki Yanok as associate loan and investment officer.

Promotions

Tilson, a network deployment and IT professional services firm in Portland, promoted Kelly Brewer to COO. Brewer previously served as executive vice president of telecommunications.

The Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission in Saco promoted Kelsey Pelton to economic, environmental specialist and economic recovery coordinator.

Norway Savings Bank promoted Lindsey Lombardo to branch manager in Freeport, Karry Kane to market personal banker for Brunswick and Amanda Dyer to branch manager and mortgage lending officer in Topsham. Lombardo was previously a personal banker and market supervisor in the Greater Portland market, Kane was branch manager in Topsham and Dyer was branch manager in Freeport.

Camden National Bank promoted Timothy Nightingale to executive vice president, chief credit officer and Ryan Smith to executive vice president, commercial banking. Nightingale most recently served as executive vice president, senior loan officer while Smith was senior vice president, director of credit administration.

Appointments

Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston added Jean Wilson to its board of directors. Wilson served as senior vice president and chief information officer at L.L.Bean for 20 years until her retirement in 2019.

Achievements

The MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence’s Breathe Easy initiative recognized leaders in addressing tobacco dependence and exposure in behavioral health organizations with its “2020 Behavioral Health Awards.” Gold level winners, who met all 10 standards, included Crossroads Outpatient, Maine Behavioral Healthcare - Residential Homes, Mid Coast Hospital Addiction Resource Center and Northeast Occupational Exchange. Aroostook Mental Health Center was named a bronze level winner having met six or seven of 10 standards. In addition, Lee D’Attilio, Maine Behavioral Healthcare - Residential Homes, and Sharon Greenleaf, Northeast Occupational Exchange, were selected as individual “Gold Star Recipients.”

SaviLinx LLC, a contact center in Brunswick specializing in customer service, business process outsourcing and technical support services, was named to the “Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies.”

Geiger, a promotional products distributor in Lewiston, presented its quarterly “Geiger Star Awards” to Alain Laverdure, Alicia Doyle, Nancy Lavoie, DeeDee King, Bev MacNeill, Lee Jones, Sandy Russell, Tricia Bell, Sheri Ridgeway, Kathy Hooks, Chris Knowlton, Keith Mosher, Jim Mathieu, Tara Villanueva, Robin Miller, Jennifer Haupt, Amme Nielsen, Maria Hoffman, Bryon Newcomb, Lil Morin and Trish Whitlock.

Robyn Palardis, field manager at Patriot Insurance Co. in Yarmouth, was named “Insurance Professional of the Year” and Jessica Meierdirk, commercial account manager at Clark Insurance in Portland, was named “Rookie of the Year” by Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland of the International Association of Insurance Professionals.

Skelton Taintor & Abbott, a law firm in Auburn, said that nine of its attorneys were named “2021 Best Lawyers in America” by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers. In addition, Jordan Payne Hay was named to the publication’s “Ones to Watch” list.

Brann & Isaacson, a law firm in Lewiston, said that seven of its attorneys were named “2021 Best Lawyers in America” by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers. In addition, Jamie Szal and Eamonn Hart were named to the publication’s “Ones to Watch” list.
