Bangor-based Cross Insurance has made another acquisition, this time in New Hampshire, marking its seventh acquisition in 2011.
Cross yesterday announced it acquired Watson Insurance Agency in Manchester, N.H., for an undisclosed price, according to the Bangor Daily News. Watson will merge with several of Cross' offices in the area to form Cross Insurance Manchester, which will be one of the largest insurance offices in northern New England. Watson's two-story building will house 75 of Cross' 500 employees companywide. Watson Insurance provides insurance and risk management services for commercial property and casualty insurance, personal insurance and employee benefits, similar to the services Cross provides.
The company's acquisitions this year include Mazonson LLC in Wakefield, Mass., and Thomas Gregory Associates Insurance Agency, also of Wakefield. The company has 34 offices, 14 of which are in Maine.
