Nonprofit pushes entrepreneurship license plate

Courtesy of Build A Biz Maine The nonprofit Build A Biz Maine hopes to generate interest from at least 2,000 Maine drivers to get legislative approval for a new state license plate that would support the organization's efforts to educate and train young entrepreneurs.

The Portland-based Youth Entrepreneurship Adventures is promoting a new vanity license plate it hopes will receive legislative approval in early 2014.

Through the nonprofit Build A Biz Maine, the new "Support Entrepreneurship" plate would provide $10 of the $25 vanity plate fee to YEA to support its efforts to encourage and train young entrepreneurs.

To receive legislative approval, the organization is now working to document the support of at least 2,000 Maine drivers who would purchase the plate, which the state requires before a new vanity plate can go into production.
