Opportunity knocks for dental floss entrepreneur
“Gonna be a dental floss tycoon,” Frank Zappa sang back in the wacky day. The idea might not be that wacky.
The Forecaster reported Cape Elizabeth resident Jodi Breau, a school library information specialist, came up with an improvement for the mundane product when she had the idea to create a recyclable and refillable dental floss container.
After connecting with a manufacturer in China, testing the product with friends and acquaintances, and receiving help from help from the Service Corps of Retired Executives, Breau trademarked her product, Dental Lace, and launched her company in January. Orders have been pouring into her website and a Canadian company is interested in distribution, The Forecaster reported.
“It’s moving much faster than we anticipated,” Breau told The Forecaster.
