PMA receives $3M gift

The Portland Museum of Art has received a gift of nearly $3 million from the family of a museum trustee and longtime supporter.

The gift from Emily Eaton Moore, a Portland resident who passed in March, is the second-largest monetary gift the museum has received in the past decade and among the largest ever, according to press release from the museum. Moore served as assistant director and acting director of the museum in the early 1980s, and was a principal liaison with the architecture firm I. M. Pei & Partners during the design and construction of the museum's Charles Shipman Payson Building. An active fundraiser, she also served on numerous museum committees.

Her gift will support the museum's mission and vision, according to the release.
