American Roots, a Portland-based manufacturer of American and union-made outerwear that opened its doors less than a year ago, has been recognized with three business awards.
“We want to bring manufacturing back to the United States and give back to our community while we do it. We know that by investing in a quality workforce and providing high-quality American made products, we can become a leader in customized outerwear,” American Roots co-founder Whitney Reynolds said in a release about the accolades.
American Roots was recognized with the following awards:
Maine’s AFL-CIO Labor Management Business of the Year Award: Recognizes a Maine company committed to American manufacturing.
The Rising Tide Business Champion Award: Presented in partnership with the Maine Small Business Coalition and the Maine People’s Alliance, recognizes a business owner who has led by example, using both the structure of their business and their influence as an owner to advance the common good.
The PROPEL entreverge Award: Presented to entrepreneurial businesses that exhibit a scalable vision for the future and a long-term commitment to the people, places and the prosperity of Maine.
