The Portland Housing Authority has hired Anamika "Ana" Chaudhari as its next director of finance and administration.
Chaudhari has worked in financial operations and strategic planning for many years, specializing in finance and accounting.
In this role, Chaudhari will oversee the operations of PHA's finance department and its central accounting system and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
"Managing the financial operations of an organization like PHA requires not just technical expertise but also a clear understanding of the vital role housing plays in building stable and thriving communities," said Brian Frost, the executive director of the Portland Housing Authority.
"Ana's extensive background in financial leadership will ensure that PHA remains financially strong and well-equipped to serve our residents effectively," he continued.
Most recently, she served as controller for Albany International, a materials science developer and manufacturer of engineered components in the advanced materials division.
Prior to joining Albany International, she held leadership positions at global firms such as AIG, Royal Philips and GE Capital. She was also the consolidation and financial reporting manager at Avangrid.
Chaudhari received her bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Delhi University. She is also a certified public accountant and holds additional certifications as a project management professional and chartered accountant.
Established in 1943, the Portland Housing Authority provides long-term, affordable, fair rental housing and assistance to more than 3,000 low-income families, seniors and disabled individuals.
