Systems Engineering, a Portland-based IT strategy and managed services provider, has appointed a director of people and culture from within the company.
Jen Hughes takes on the newly formed department that focuses on all aspects of the employee experience and embedding a culture of employee ownership across the organization. Prior to the promotion Hughes worked as employee success manager at Systems Engineering.

Hughes joined Systems Engineering in 2020 as the organization's employee success manager after moving back to Maine, where she was born and raised. Hughes earned a bachelor of arts in outdoor recreation with a concentration in experiential education and leadership and a minor in business administration from Western Colorado University. She received a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Washington.
Before joining Systems Engineering, she was the director of programs at Ventures, a Seattle-based nonprofit focusing on microeconomic development and local microfinance.
