RE/MAX By the Bay recently opened two new offices in Portland, including a space on Veranda Street that used to be its home more than a decade ago.
Twelve years ago, the real estate agency relocated from 281 Veranda St. to 970 Baxter Blvd. As of July 1, the company moved back to the Veranda Street location, which it owns, and also opened a new office at 88 Middle St., according to Operations Manager Susan Scanlon. The new, 5,600-square-foot contemporary office is located at the corner of Middle and Franklin streets, and includes a mix of company operations, private offices and public space. Scanlon said the two different locations allow its more than 50 real estate agents to choose their working atmosphere: a traditional, cottage-like space on Veranda Street, and a modern office space on Middle Street. All agents are technically based out of the Middle Street office, but some spend most of their time in the other location, she says.
The new location also allows agents to be downtown, as opposed to its previous Baxter Boulevard location. The Middle Street office includes space to hold client meetings, a large education/community room, and communications and networking technology to allow for a completely mobile work station, according to a press release.
The agency serves clients in greater Portland, Lewiston-Auburn, and Cumberland and York counties.
