ReVision starting solar farm in Freeport
Portland-based ReVision Energy plans to start a community solar farm this November in Freeport that is designed for residents who aren’t able to install solar panels on their own homes.
The Forecaster reported that ReVision is selling nine shares for the farm, which will be located at Maine Idyll Motor Court on Route 1. Shares range in price from $15,000 to $30,000, though buyers can apply for a federal tax credit of up to 30% of the share’s price.
Shareholders will receive the electricity generated at the solar farm through an account with Central Maine Power Co. ReVision has only built one other solar farm in Maine so far (in South Paris), but the company said it hopes to build more in the future.
