Saco Defense wins $25M contract

Saco Defense has won a $25 million contract to manufacture grenade launchers.
The Saco facility, a division of General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, will make 130 lightweight grenade launchers for the U.S. Army, according to a press release from Sen. Susan Collins. In May, the Navy awarded the facility a nearly $10 million machine gun contract for 20 mm Gatling machine gun systems used on F/A-18 fighter aircraft.
The grenade launcher work is expected to be completed by August 2012.
