Small business forum seeks statewide input

Maine's small business advocate and other officials will host a virtual forum this Wednesday to seek input from small-business leaders around the state.

The videoconference forum will include presentations from state and federal officials on available resources that exist for small businesses, and seeks to get input from small-business owners about regulatory issues. There will be time for questions, comments and feedback.

The forum will be accessible from eight libraries around the state. Speakers include:

  • Maurice Dube, district director for the Maine office of the U.S. Small Business Administration
  • Jay Martin, Maine's small business advocate
  • Richard Truman, manager of the business tax unit for the Maine Revenue Services
  • Virginia Carroll, director of apprenticeship and strategic partnerships for the Maine Department of Labor
  • Shawn Savage, Internal Revenue Service representative

To register, participating businesses are asked to contact Shawn.S.Savage@irs.gov or call (207) 491-1888 and provide a name, title, organization name, address, telephone number and email address.

Videoconferencing will be accessible in Augusta at the Maine State Library and at public libraries in Bangor, Belfast, Cherryfield, Pittsfield, Portland, York and at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library in Presque Isle.
