Mainely Home Watch in South Portland said it earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association.

Home watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues. The service “keeps an eye on things” at vacation or primary homes while owners are not in residence.

NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain industry standards for home watch and absentee homeowner services in the U.S. and Canada.

All principals of NHWA accredited member companies are background-checked, insured, and bonded.

Mainely Home Watch’s owners, Anthony Verville and Kimberly Veilleux, found a need for home watch in the Maine real estate market. They saw countless homes being left unoccupied for most of the year and established the service to provide safety and integrity for  homeowners’ investments while they were away, according to a news release.

Veilleux and Verville are  insured, bonded and licensed in the state of Maine. Both are Maine natives.

Verville bring a background in law enforcement. Veilleux is a commercial real estate broker who uses a collaborative approach to make sure clients’ homes are taken care of in a professional manner.

Mainely Home Watch serves South Portland, Portland, Falmouth, Freeport, Cumberland, Yarmouth, North Yarmouth, Westbrook and Scarborough in Cumberland County and Biddeford, Saco, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Old Orchard Beach and Arundel in York County.
