Stove retailer under state scrutiny

Prompted by numerous customer complaints, state police last week raided a Saco stove retailer as well as the home of the company's owners.

Police removed business records, computers and computer drives from Mainely Stoves and searched the home of John Michael Grover and Lori Morin, according to the Portland Press Herald. The raid followed a series of complaints by customers who said they paid for merchandise but never received it, and that the company failed to return their money. Police are reviewing the company's records, and are consulting with the Maine attorney general's office and the district attorney.

According to its website, Mainely Stoves was founded in 2007 and sells wood, pellet, coal and gas stoves, as well as fuels and accessories. Grover also runs J.M. Grover Excavation and Landscaping, according to the website.
