The now-bankrupt renewable energy company SunEdison is seeking approval to sell a number of its wind projects, including the proposed Misery Ridge project near Moosehead Lake.
The Bangor Daily News reported that SunEdison has asked a bankruptcy judge to approve the sale of the 26-turbine project as part of its Chapter 11 reorganization. The renewable energy company is specifically looking for the court to allow Houston-based NRG’s renewable energy division as the initial bidder on the project.
For its part, NRG has already agreed to a starting bid of $144 million for approximately 2.1 gigawatts of the SunEdison project’s capacity, the BDN reported.
