Coffee By Design, Rosemont Market & Bakery and Mainely Wraps have all closed individual locations for a range of reasons.
Coffee By Design announced Wednesday in a note to customers that it will close its store at 43 Washington Ave. In its note to customers, the coffee retailer said it sold the building to the owners of Duck Fat last year. The company had leased back the space, but has since decided not to renew the lease. It will close Feb. 28. Coffee By Design has five other locations, which are unaffected.
Rosemont Market & Bakery closed its store at 5 Commercial St. in the Old Port. It is in the process of converting a former Pratt Abbott store on U.S. Route 1 in Falmouth to a market, and also has five other stores.
Mainely Wraps closed two of its three stores, in Scarborough and South Portland, telling customers on Facebook it wanted to focus on its Portland location, at 431 Congress St., and apologizing for poor customer service at the other sites.
“Some of you have had poor customer service experiences, there hasn’t been consistency. Some of you have spoken up, many of you haven’t, but the truth is we are physically, emotionally and financially unable to continue to run our three stores in such a manner,” Mainely Wraps said on its Facebook page.
