For the past few years, Tyler Technologies has been crowding its 420 employees into an increasingly tight location on Route 1 in Falmouth. Now, to more comfortably accommodate its 5% to 7% annual growth in staff, the company is moving into the former Cole Haan headquarters in Yarmouth.
The company, which is based in Dallas, Texas, and opened its Falmouth branch in 1989 with 40 employees, moved its first group of employees last week, according to marketing director Lee Marquis. It will keep its 68,000-square-foot location at 370 Route 1 in Falmouth, but vacate two nearby smaller buildings used for overflow.
The company creates software programs for governments and schools that help streamline processes in financial management, court cases, property taxes, citizen services, public records and more, according to its website.
Tyler Technologies bought the building at 1 Cole Haan Drive in 2008 for $12.7 million, according to Yarmouth records, but waited to occupy it until the high-end footwear and handbag company could move into its new Scarborough quarters. Cole Haan relocated to 38,000 square feet of leased office space at the Roundwood Business Park this summer.
Patriot Insurance Co. continues to lease the third floor, Marquis says, leaving 64,000 square feet for Tyler.
