Union drops three of 12 charges against Alcom

Union leaders have dropped three of the 12 charges they filed with the National Labor Relations Board against the Winslow-based trailer manufacturer Alcom.

The Morning Sentinel reported the union withdrew charges that Alcom spied on union gatherings, polled employees about union support and that one of the workers had been illegally fired for being involved in the union.

The remaining nine charges include allegations that four other employees were illegally terminated and that an Alcom executive questioned an employee’s participation in union activities via text messages.

Robert Kline, an attorney for Alcom, told the paper that he doesn’t expect the charges to go to a formal hearing and that details of a settlement, if reached, would likely not be made public.

The paper reported the NLRB has concluded its investigation of the matter and is now working to broker a resolution between the two parties.
