Telecomm giant Verizon has named a new president for its Atlantic North market, which includes Maine.
Chris Flood, a 22-year veteran of the company, has been named market president as well as a Verizon senior vice president. Flood will be responsible for overseeing all consumer sales, distribution and operations across the market's 12 states and the District of
Columbia, according to a news release.
He will also lead a Verizon unit that includes more than 2,800 employees, 286 corporate stores and over 1,100 stores that handle indirect sales.
Flood is a distinguished leader whose leadership philosophy centers on fostering a positive culture, and is strongly committed to giving back to the communities Verizon serves, the company said in the release.
“At Verizon, we take pride in the critical role we have in connecting people to the people and things that matter most to them and I look forward to leading a team of such talented and hardworking colleagues,” said Flood.
“I started in this market as a sales rep 22 years ago. To say it is a dream come true to lead it is the understatement of the century."
Prior to his new role, Flood served as the consumer vice president of Verizon Consumer Group's Northeast region, where he led corporate retail and indirect sales. He also held the position of vice president for strategic partners, where he spearheaded strategy and performance for customer service outsourcers.
Flood is a graduate of Strayer University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration. He began his career at Verizon as a retail sales representative on Long Island, N.Y., and today resides in Flemington, N.J., with his wife, four children and two dogs.
Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ), headquartered in New York City, operates worldwide and reported 2022 revenues of $136.8 billion.
