William Arthur lays off 23

William Arthur Inc., a luxury stationery printer in West Kennebunk, is cutting 23 jobs and eliminating its third shift at the end of this week, according to the Portland Press Herald.
"The challenging economy has resulted in us having to make some very tough choices," Dotty Leavitt, the company's vice president of employee services and facilities, told the newspaper. The company prints wedding invitations, baby announcements and personalized stationery.
Leavitt told the paper that the company will focus on new products, technologies and relaunching its website to sell direct to consumers.
