Windham medical device maker lands $645K contract

Lighthouse Imaging, a Windham-based medical device manufacturer, has received a $645,000 contract to develop 3D imaging devices for a major surgical device manufacturer.

The company announced the purchase order on Wednesday, noting that its the second phase of a $2.3 million research and development program. The surgical device manufacturer was not named in the announcement.

“Lighthouse expects to solidify a long term relationship manufacturing hundreds of these devices every year,” the company said.

Lighthouse said 3D imaging technology helps surgeons with accuracy and precision “through increased depth perception and spatial view of anatomy during surgery.”

Founded in 1986, Lighthouse was later acquired by Maine-based Anania & Associates Investment Company in 2010. Besides its 3D imaging devices, the company also develops endoscopes and other optical medical devices.
