A new woman-owned company supporting public safety infrastructure recently launched in response to strong demand from the Maine Department of Transportation and many Maine communities.

Frazier Signal Technologies announced Tuesday that it completed its business formation, financing and capital funding effort, and began operations as of Aug. 1.

“We saw a need for this critical service and knew we had the requisite skills and competencies to help communities, many of whom cannot support their own service divisions,” Lynn Frazier, the company’s founder, president and CEO, said in a news release. “It’s a front-line public safety issue, and something most people don’t think of until something goes wrong. A spirit of public service drives us.”

An engineer and entrepreneur, Frazier said she launched the company to provide critical traffic signal installation, maintenance and repair services in and around Maine and northern New England.

Frazier Signals has entered into long-term service contracts with multiple infrastructure asset owners around the state.

The company has business service support from affiliate Treadwell Franklin Infrastructure Capital LLC. Its capabilities include routine maintenance and emergency repair of signals, new or replacement intersection installations, solar powered roadside signing, troubleshooting and optimization services including full engineering studies with the support of James W. Sewall Co. an engineering consultant in Bangor.

Frazier maintains its fleet of repair vehicles and supply inventories in its home facility in Veazie.

Initial operations have focused on northern, central and midcoast Maine. Significant demand is coming from around the state and from municipalities and state agencies in New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts.

“We’re very excited to watch Frazier Signals' fast-paced growth and progress,” said Stephen Rigal Jones, Treadwell Franklin’s president and CEO. “Supporting a woman-owned business in the service of public safety is exactly the kind of thing TFIC wants to do and should be doing.”

Treadwell Franklin Infrastructure Capital LLC is a Delaware limited liability company, founded in 2015, with headquarters in Portland. The integrated infrastructure business is focused on municipal, institutional and energy infrastructure and services in New England and the Northeast.
