Maine has been one of the states with the biggest boom in craft brewing operations. According to the Maine Brewers Guild, the number of establishments grew from 35 in 2009 to 165 by 2022. 

But there has been concern in the brewing industry overall that consolidation is inevitable, with big brewers buying smaller labels and more mergers among peers expected.
