Poll results

With a nail-biter presidential election less than a month away — and countless other races up for grabs — businesspeople are thinking about a lot more than business these days.

A survey of over 3,000 U.S. professionals shows how the current political climate and the upcoming election are affecting some concerns related to employment.

The poll, conducted in August by FlexJobs.com, found:

32% of American workers believe the November election will have a “significant impact” on their careers.

Among respondents who anticipate that impact, 19% feel it will be positive, while 13% feel it will be negative.

The top impact anticipated so far has been greater inflation and economic instability, cited as an effect by 31% of the respondents.

As the election highlights differences in personal beliefs and values, 29% of respondents said they would “absolutely not” work for a company whose policies or practices do not align with their own.
