With Election Day less than seven weeks away, political races are tightening, political rhetoric is raging like a California wildfire, and political advertising is filling every airwave and every nook and cranny of social media.
One example: Campaign spending in Maine's U.S. Senate contest has surpassed $63 million, making it by far the most expensive in the state's history.
Campaign spending may be a boon for some businesses, but perhaps of little avail when it comes to the votes up for grabs. Hyperpartisanship and an unprecedented demand for absentee ballots could mean many Mainers have already made up their minds about whose names to check on (or before) Nov. 3.
How about you?
I just want this OVER! The nastiness and outright lies, particularly from the out-of-state "dark Money" ads are over the top!. Ex: Chuck Schumer's PAC blaming Sen. Collins for the P.O. mess, when he was the co-sponsor of the bill with Sen. Collins! The problems are in both directions though!
It appears that you are either for bloated government, defunding the police, and taxing small business to death or you are not. So, if you are collecting money from the government you will vote to keep it that way, and if you are paying taxes you should vote the other. Pretty easy decision for everyone.
Yes, I have already decided, but I will vote in person on election day. It is the safest way to ensure that my vote counts.
