Fifteen years ago our company paid for 100% of the employee and their families healthcare. Now, they pay 80% of the employee only, and their costs are 12x what they were before. The system is broken and the people who are getting rich are our government elected officials. Follow the money and you will probably find a politician got their cut along the way.
While we have many issues and priorities directly related to our business, absorbing back to back to back 30+% increases in our health insurance premiums makes health care a serious matter to our company. Why the onerous increases? Some of our employees actually used the insurance! Gasp.
A better poll question would be if companies are considering changes to their plans given the dispute between Anthem and Maine Health.
