As one of the largest statewide private human service agencies in Maine, we provide leadership programs and services to:
Our goal is to serve those in need, of all faiths, with special emphasis on Maine’s most vulnerable populations — the poor, elderly and children.
We continue to analyze trends, pursuing mission-related opportunities for existing service areas, identified target areas and emerging social needs, including, but not limited to:
We seek to grow our donor base by cultivating relationships with both businesses and individuals and demonstrate we are trustworthy of their support through transparency and effective stewardship of their funds. 91 cents of every dollar we receive goes directly to those in need.
We encourage businesses to join us in our mission of investing in Maine’s most vulnerable populations as a Community Partner. This year-long sponsorship means businesses can make one donation to support 20+ programs statewide, serving nearly 50,000 Mainers of all faiths and helping to provide 365 days of help & hope. As a Community Partner a businesses’ support goes well beyond event sponsorship, in addition to being featured at our special events (STAND, Put Children First Golf Classic, and World Refugee Day), companies also receive recognition at Fikiria, our creative marketplace in Portland for emerging entrepreneurs, in our philanthropy and employee communications, on our website and social media platforms and in our annual report. Donate a vehicle! Even if no longer road-worthy, vehicles can serve a higher purpose helping fund CCM services statewide. Call 855-460-4483 or visit www.ccmaine.careasy.org. Vehicles are towed at no cost and donors receive a tax credit. Trucks, boats, motorcycles, trailers and more are accepted.
Consider volunteering for our Connect Maine: Immigrant Mentoring Program. You will be matched to mentor a recently federally-resettled refugee based on common vocational backgrounds, schedules and personalities as they acclimate to a new community.
Host an office clothing drive for our Threads of Hope thrift stores (Portland, Caribou, Sanford, Monticello and Presque Isle). We can provide you with a “Drop Box” on a temporary or permanent basis. Help out in-store sorting items, stocking shelves or working the checkout.
If you like to volunteer but don’t have the time for an on-going commitment, our HOP Team (Hands On Projects) might be right for you! It’s a team of volunteers who can be available for one-time, short-term projects where an extra pair of hands is needed.
