1. Provide comfort, compassion and connection in-person and virtually to 3,000 clients throughout Maine and beyond.
2. Become an integral part of the standard of care for people diagnosed with cancer in Maine and beyond.
3. Relocate our South Portland location to Rock Row’s Medical Campus as part of our statewide growth strategy to provide high-quality support to more Mainers impacted by cancer.
4. Raise $1.8 million during the 2023 Dempsey Challenge presented by Karyopharm Therapeutics.
Dempsey Challenge is the Dempsey Center’s largest fundraising event. Since 2009, we have relied on the support of our corporate partners to help build the Challenge into the innovative, inspirational and global event it is today. If you are interested in supporting the 2023 event as a corporate partner, please contact Chrissie Penney at cpenney@dempseycenter.org.
Dempsey Day of Giving is a unique way to contribute to the services provided to cancer patients, survivors, care partners and their loved ones. Held on March 7th, this is a day to hear inspirational stories from current and past clients, all to bring together a community of businesses and individuals dedicated to supporting our mission. Contact Lorianne Saniuk at lsaniuk@dempseycenter.org to learn about sponsorship and donor matching opportunities for our 2nd Annual Dempsey Day of Giving.
The Dempsey Center offers year-round opportunities to support the no-cost, holistic services provided to those impacted by cancer. From room naming opportunities, to specific program or series sponsorships, to foundation gifts that support every service offered by the Center, there are countless ways to help make a difference in the lives of people impacted by cancer. Our dedicated advancement team will work with you to align your support with what resonates most for you or your organization’s mission. If you are interested in learning more about how to help provide a haven of support for cancer patients, their loved ones and care partners – all at no cost – please contact Chrissie Penney at cpenney@dempseycenter.org.
The annual Dempsey Challenge in September relies on the teamwork of over 500 volunteers to ensure a successful event experience. While many volunteers are individual, we often have businesses and community groups chose to volunteer together in the park, at rest stops, or leading up to the event itself.
Volunteers provide invaluable support throughout the year by assisting with things like Reiki, Nutrition Programs and Clayton’s House guests (to name only a few). Both individuals and groups are welcome and opportunities are regularly posted on our website, or you can connect with our Volunteer Coordinator by emailing volunteer@dempseycenter.org.
