Culture/Company Benefits: Team Hancock encourages leadership at every position. We strive to create a workplace where all employees feel respected, valued, trusted, and heard–fostering a culture where ‘Everybody Leads’ and a place that’s truly a ‘Best Place to Work’. Hancock Lumber also offers a competitive and inclusive benefits package from insurance and 401(k) plans to performance-based bonus plans for every employee.
Community Engagement: Deeply embedded in Hancock’s culture is stewardship – giving back and leaving things in better shape than when we assumed responsibility for them. We connect with organizations in our communities supporting them financially, with material donations, and with the gift of time and service. Sustainability: In our 175-year company history, we’ve only experienced two eastern white pine harvest cycles. It takes 80 to 100 years before pine trees are mature, making our business a long-term commitment. Our sawmills run with zero-waste of raw materials, as 100% of the log fiber is utilized. Sawdust by-products from our milling operations are used in place of fossil fuels, and we generate power through turbines, converting otherwise wasted steam from drying lumber into power. We also have invested in other forest products to further encourage sustainable practices and industry longevity. Our team can source and supply FSC Certified products, along with building materials that meet the rigorous Living Building Challenge requirements

At Hancock Lumber, we look for opportunities in people every day. We want people to move into positions where they feel valued. Years ago somebody saw value and potential in me and it’s now my turn to give that to others. That is the culture we have around here – everybody leads; our people express their opinions and showcase what they have to offer. That kind of a culture opens doors for everybody.
