Hebert Construction has grown for nearly 80 years from a small residential carpentry company to one of northern New England’s leading construction contractors. With four generations of family leadership, we’ve earned an exceptional reputation for delivering the highest quality construction related services. We specialize in building enduring value for clients in commercial, corporate, healthcare, educational, and housing. Our unbeatable rate of returning business and successful project completion is a testament to what sets us apart: our field-first expertise, transparent process, and upfront communication.
Markets/customers: Hebert specializes in all areas of commercial construction: healthcare, housing, education, manufacturing, and other complex projects. Offering general contracting, pre-construction, and construction management services, we have offices in Lewiston and Portland, Maine with projects throughout the state.
Career/job opportunities: We pride ourselves on the longevity and tenure of our employees. Most workers have been at the company for an average of ten years, and that has allowed for a strong workplace culture to be fostered. Furthermore, Hebert places a strong priority of promotion from within and takes great measures to ensure growth and educational opportunities are always available to anyone. We currently have opportunities for carpenters and senior construction superintendent. Go to the “careers” page on our website to learn more.
Company Benefits: Our employees are our most valuable asset. That’s why Hebert Construction provides a rich benefit package for eligible full-time employees along with competitive salaries. Our plans are designed to provide the coverage that our employees need most, and we offer discounts for healthy lifestyle choices. We offer paid time off and holidays, contributions to health insurance coverage and a safe harbor 401k plan, provide $25K of life insurance, and have voluntary dental, disability, and ancillary insurance plans.
Internship program:
We have an apprenticeship program in place that meets ABC and is registered with the MDOL. Additionally, we’ve launched a youth apprenticeship program with Tree Street Youth, PINE Construction. (PINE stands for Peer Inspired Navigation of Employment). There are currently (18) kids in the program working on nearby jobsites as their schedules allows.
Community engagement:
In addition to our partnership with the local Tree Street Youth Center in Lewiston, we actively seek out unique ways and opportunities to support the community with available time and resources.

Hebert consistently promotes professional and personal growth and offers opportunity for advancement. In my four years with Hebert, I have learned something every day from both coworkers and running jobs. I have also been given the opportunity to obtain both a crane operating license and a class A CDL license.
