Hews annually supports 70+ local ME/NH charities and fundraising events including Boys & Girls Clubs; Hospice of Southern Maine; food banks; Special Olympics; academic/sports teams; educational scholarships; and Camp Susan Curtis. Additionally, we annually contribute to United Way of Southern Maine along with over 70% of our employees who regularly donate portions of their earnings.
Sustainability: Hews manages environmental matters as an integral part of our business. Paper products, cardboard, aluminum, and scrap metal produced in our facilities are collected and recycled. To prevent release to the environment, waste oil is collected for recycling as heating fuel or disposal by a licensed environmental contractor with other hazardous waste products. We continue to focus on energy efficiency improvements including new LED lighting throughout our facilities.
