Interstate Electrical Services Corporation consistently delivers outstanding quality that exceeds customer expectations. Interstate leverages the extensive experience of its project managers, in-house engineering, 3D coordination and design-assist expertise to ensure the best possible solutions are employed at every turn. Over 600 employees strong, with 180 service vehicles, Interstate is the largest electrical services merit shop serving the greater New England region.
Markets/customers: Interstate has a strong presence across New England. We have successfully delivered projects in virtually every major commercial sector — life science, health care, schools and universities, industrial/manufacturing and multi-unit housing to name a few. To each project we bring expertise in 3D design and BIM coordination and UL certified prefabrication.
Career/job opportunities: Interstate is always looking for licensed electricians, apprentices, and assemblers and other positions to join the team.
Company Benefits: Interstate offers all employees and their families medical and dental coverage, with an HSA, employee life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and a 401K with company match. In addition, there is the benefit of working for a large regional contractor with over 55 years of experience delivering quality projects for customers of all sizes.
Internship program: Interstate offers internship, co-op, and electrical apprenticeship programs. Most recently, Interstate developed its Assembler Apprentice program in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which requires 2,000 on the job hours and 150 classroom hours. Participants in the Assembler Apprentice program earn a state-recognized Assembler Certificate.
Community engagement: Interstate has been a proud member of the community in each of our markets across New England for 55 years. We partner with local youth organizations, donating time and resources regularly. Company President Jim Alibrandi sits on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Billerica, among other organizations.
Sustainability: The nature of Interstate’s prefabrication focus intrinsically means we reduce waste. There is less physical waste on the jobsite because we are delivering only the components and supplies needed, packed efficiently. There is also reduced transportation waste because we’re only shipping what’s necessary and reducing the number of manhours required on site.

The mental and physical challenges of a career in the electrical trade fit perfectly with my personality. The future of this field is really exciting!
