Kennebec Behavioral Health

2024 Goals

  • FY 2024 goals for Kennebec Behavioral Health’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) include improving the behavioral health of local community members by ensuring KBH’s CCBHC receives state certification by June 30, 2024. This process will include expanding and strengthening the Care Coordination system into treatment planning and service delivery and continuing to build new technological capabilities to track and report on CCBHC.
  • Kennebec Behavioral Health also plans to recruit, retain and support KBH employees in all programs. Part of reaching this goal includes expanding its tuition reimbursement program by working with local universities and colleges. Additional activities to reach this goal include improving the benefits package and offering more flexibility. KBH will once again apply to become one of the Best Places to Work in Maine and make the top-10 in the large companies’ category.
  • KBH will further expand its tele counseling program to offer flexibility for staff and clients and reduce no-show rates.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

KBH will be hosting its annual community fundraiser, A Night Out, on Nov. 4, 2023. The in-person event will include a themed murder mystery show with Mystery 207. Appetizers, a buffet dinner and basket raffle will be included during the night. Guests are welcome to wear costumes following the theme (Maine Horror Authors).

Tickets will be available to the public to purchase at www.kbhmaine.org/anightout in August 2023. Last year, tickets sold out within three weeks, so those interested should purchase tickets as soon as possible. Tickets are $55 for the early bird special and $60 afterwards.Food is included in this ticket price.

Businesses can become regular sponsors and/or basket sponsors. A Night Out has four sponsorship levels (not including basket sponsorship level), some of which include tickets to the event. Basket sponsors may donate a gift certificate, item or basket for the raffle. More information can be found at www.kbhmaine.org/anightout/become-a-sponsor/. Funds raised through the event benefit KBH’s College Scholarship Fund.

Giving Opportunities

Nearly everyone has a friend or family member who is or has struggled with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Gifts to KBH can be restricted to a specific program or kept unrestricted to go where the need is greatest, such as the Homeless Outreach Program or Substance Use Disorder Prevention Program. Every gift that is made is someone’s next step toward recovery.

One-time and recurring gifts can be made online at www.kbhmaine.org/give/ or by sending checks to Kennebec Behavioral Health, 67 Eustis Parkway, Waterville, ME 04901. KBH hosts two giving appeals, one in the spring and one in the fall. Individuals can sign up for our e-newsletter by visiting our website to receive information about programs in need and giving opportunities. KBH often partners with local businesses to host fundraisers to support mental health care. Please email info@kbhmaine.org to learn more about fundraising opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Kennebec Behavioral Health offers opportunities for those interested in volunteering at the Board level. We have four separate corporations – KBH Programs and Services, Kennebec Mental Health Associates (KMHA) Foundation, KMHA Real Estate and the KMHA Parent Board.
