Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance (MMSA)

2021–22 GOALS

MMSA’s 5-year strategic plan focuses on increasing equitable access to STEM education for ALL students PreK-12. As an organization we are building capacity in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) strategies and partnerships to advance toward this goal

Fundraising Events / Opportunities

Are you interested in supporting the next generation of Maine’s STEM innovators?

Support Maine Youth STEM competitions: Sponsors of the Maine State Science Fair, Middle School Science Fair and Destination Imagination will serve a key role in encouraging the next generation of scientists and STEM innovators to pursue their ambitions in high school and beyond. Play a part in these celebrations of Maine high school and middle school STEM innovation!

Giving Opportunities

Downtown Augusta Headquarters Capital Campaign: We are still accepting corporate partner contributions to our capital campaign until Dec 31st, 2021. Contributors will be recognized with naming opportunities of spaces throughout our office headquarters at 343 Water Street in Augusta. We welcome over a thousand visitors per year, including STEM education leaders from across the country. Giving levels from $1,000 - $35,000 still available. mmsa.org/capital-campaign-2021/

Annual Fund Donations: MMSA accepts donations year round on our website. Donors can make a one time donation or set up an ongoing donation.

Educator scholarships and customized school-wide STEM professional learning: Help us create scholarships and reduced cost professional learning opportunities for educators that work with high need students. These sponsorships can be targeted to serve specific regions.

Volunteer Opportunities

Board of Directors and Committee members: We are looking to add individuals with specific expertise to our full Board of Directors or as a committee member, including:

  • Fundraising and development
  • Marketing and communications
  • Informal/out-of-school STEM education
  • STEM education research
  • Organizational management

Business partners/advisors: We also partner with Maine businesses to seek perspectives on Maine’s STEM education needs and how to meet them in order to support workforce development. Please be in touch if you are interested in this opportunity.
