In this coming year, MMSA will be completing our 2020-2025 strategic plan which focuses our organization on meeting the following outcomes:
Outcome 1: Increase equitable access to STEM professional learning
Outcome 2: Elevate rural STEM voice
Outcome 3: Foster strong partnerships
Outcome 4: Nurture a dynamic and flexible organization
Throughout the year we will be sharing stories of how we have worked toward achieving these goals over the last five years and where we are setting our sights for 2030!
Support Educators
Sponsor our STEM Professional Development Educators Retreat: Join us as we bring together more than 200 educators from across the state for a one-day professional development retreat on March 14, 2025. Educators will have opportunities to learn new skills, build networks and capacity and find exciting new resources for their classrooms. Sponsorships range from $1,000 to $25,000 and scholarship support can be given in $250 increments.
Support Students
Sponsor our Statewide Science & Engineering Fairs: Sponsors serve a key role in encouraging the next generation of scientists and STEM innovators to pursue their ambitions in middle school, high school, and beyond. Each year, hundreds of students, community members, teachers and Maine businesses participate in the fairs. Sponsorships for these high-profile events range from $5,000 to $20,000 levels.
Make a gift to MMSA’s Annual Fund to increase accessibility to high-quality STEM education across the state. Your support directly impacts MMSA students, educators, and Maine communities. This year we have a goal to reach $110,000 in philanthropic giving.

Join MMSA’s Board of Directors: We are looking to add individuals who will help us champion STEM education and bring specific expertise to our Board of Directors or as a committee member. Our board currently has openings for members with expertise in organizational management, policy, advocacy or higher education.
Become a Maine State Science Fair judge: Recruitment begins in January 2025! Visit our judges’ page at Maine-State-Science-Fair.com/judge to learn how you can get involved.
