Manufacturers Association of Maine

From blue collar to ‘all collar’ professional positions, there are jobs in manufacturing

What a year! As the voice of manufacturing in the state of Maine, the Manufacturers Association of Maine is, once again, thrilled to be partnered with Mainebiz to create and promote Work for ME. This is a grand opportunity to showcase what is happening in manufacturing today!

Manufacturers Association of Maine represents hundreds of members providing workforce and business services to meet the needs of our businesses and workers. The major ongoing challenge has been and continues to be finding and attracting a skilled workforce.

We have launched EGS, or Employee Growth Services, as the workforce arm of the Manufacturers Association. We are pleased to be partnering with Destination Occupation (as the workforce arm of MAME), JMG, Maine’s Adult Education programs, Express Employment and many other entities that provide job seekers, training opportunities and recruitment efforts across the state.

Through our success of the EGS program, this publication is used as a major outreach strategy to engage more young people, educators, parents, and the public on the career opportunities in manufacturing. Work for ME provides the opportunity to build awareness and educate others about what manufacturing looks like today.

Today, modern manufacturing facilities are filled with high tech computer systems, automation, clean rooms, engineering, and research and development departments.

There are a substantial number of career opportunities in Maine.

This publication will introduce students and educators to the world of modern manufacturing through the eyes of companies right here in Maine. Work for ME will highlight many of our “all collar” professionals in manufacturing who have found rewarding careers.

Join us as we experience the many opportunities in this vibrant sector and discover your future here in Maine manufacturing.
