The vast majority of community banks do not have the in-house tax credit expertise and experience that we do.
Q: Who is your ideal client?
Experienced and sophisticated real estate developers with an interest in accessing federal and state tax credit programs to help complete or subsidize their respective project capital stacks.
Q: When you aren’t working, how do you like to spend your time?
Spending time with my daughter, running, and hiking.

Mascoma doesn’t feel like a typical bank. Our organization is like family, and together we lift and empower one another to do good in this world. We also have amazing technology!

Mentoring other young professionals.

A: The alignment of Mascoma’s B Corp values and my personal values. I also have an entrepreneurial nature, so joining a bank that is new to the Maine market had appeal.

Bettering the lives of youth in Maine.

As a Certified B-Corp, Mascoma’s core values really resonated with me. Doing good in the communities we serve is so important.

Mascoma’s purpose - to deliver exceptional customer service while improving our community and customers lives - isn’t just something we say. It is embodied in every lending decision, in our charitable giving, and in the well-being of our employees.
Q: When you aren’t working, how do you like to spend your time?
Spending time with my family skiing in the winter and lake activities in the summer.

The community feel, social responsibility, and just how down to earth everyone is at the Bank.

Mascoma is focused on making lending decisions based on common sense.
Q: Who is your ideal client?
Just about everyone! 1st time homebuyers, construction loans, land loans, primary residences, 2nd homes, investment properties, seasonal properties, and of course conventional mortgages.
Q: What is your role at the Bank?
I joined Mascoma Bank in 2018 to open the Bank’s Portland Maine office, and to build out the Bank’s Maine loan portfolio and Maine team.
Q: What attracted you to the Bank?
The financing tools available through the Bank’s subsidiary, Mascoma Community Development, the Bank’s B Corp. Certification, and the fact that Mascoma’s management team is rethinking what it means to be a community bank in the 21st century.

Finding ways in which business can be used to better address the societal and environmental challenges we face.
