In 2023, United Way of Kennebec Valley (UWKV) funded 58 nonprofit and school-based partner programs throughout the 29 towns of Kennebec Valley – helping more than 32,000 people access health care, education and financial stability. In total, UWKV provides support for one in four local people. Every fall, UWKV raises money for these programs through its annual fundraising campaign. Because of heightened levels of need related to the rising costs of living, UWKV has increased its fundraising goal to $1.9 million.
Additionally, UWKV is the backbone organization for the Impact2032 movement, which unites community members and organizations across all sectors to accelerate change in Kennebec County. In 2023, UWKV aligned its Community Investment Process with the Impact2032 10-year goals – requiring that funded programs also align with one of the three vision statements to advance health, education or financial stability for all people. Impact2032 enhances UWKV’s efforts to produce more measurable results. To join the movement, visit impact2032.org.
