University of Southern Maine Foundation

2020 Goals

The USM Foundation is committed to expanding access to education and strengthening pathways to academic and career success that help build Maine’s future workforce. Our 2020 goals are focused on:

  • Scholarships: We raise the critical funds needed for scholarship programs at USM, including the Promise Scholarship and the Access to Education Scholarship, two programs that make college possible for talented and motivated students.
  • Alumni Engagement: We expand career opportunities for our students by tapping into USM’s powerful 56,000+ alumni network – 70% live and work in Maine and play a vital role in Maine’s economic well-being.
  • Employer Engagement: We forge win-win partnerships with business and community leaders to help cultivate the next generation of skilled talent for Maine’s workforce.
  • The USM Master Plan: We encourage philanthropic support for priority projects identified in USM’s master plan, which include improvements on all 3 USM campuses: a new Student Center, a future Center for the Arts, the Michael E. Dubyak Center for Digital Science and Innovation, a new high-fidelity Nursing Simulation Lab and the Center for Teaching Innovation.

Giving Opportunities

There are many meaningful ways for employer partners, alumni, parents and friends to demonstrate their belief in the power of a USM education.
