York County Community Action Corporation

2020 Goals

YCCAC is driven by the belief that when our communities are strong, all members have opportunities to thrive. In turn, when an individual achieves personal success and independence, our communities grow healthier, more robust, and more vibrant. To achieve this, YCCAC has three priority goals for 2020.

First, we will continue to address the needs of all of the clients and patients we work with, helping them lead healthy, secure, and independent lives. This includes providing critical services such as Head Start, transportation, heating assistance, home ownership counseling and repair, asset building, and WIC, as well as medical, dental, and behavioral health care at our Federally Qualified Health Center. It also includes implementing innovative approaches that help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency through coaching and financial education. Our second priority is to strengthen the communities our clients and patients live and work in, with a particular focus on affordable housing and workforce development. Finally, we are working to address the opioid use disorder crisis, providing best-practice treatment of opioid use disorder that is integrated with primary care and enhanced by supportive resources that address patients’ social determinants of health.

Fundraising Events/Opportunities

On November 8, 2019, YCCAC will hold its 5th Annual Silent Auction for 200 guests at Spring Hill in South Berwick, Maine, with all proceeds benefiting agency programming and services. Interested supporters can learn more by contacting Ericka Sanborn, Development Manager, at 207.459.2938 or by visiting www.yccac.org.

Giving Opportunities

While YCCAC’s annual appeal is launched each November to support the agency’s capacity to continue its work, donations are accepted year-round through JustGiving.com or by contacting Ericka Sanborn, Development Manager, at 207.459.2938. In-kind contributions are also accepted on an ongoing basis in the form of goods and/or volunteer services.

Volunteer Opportunities

Committed volunteers allow YCCAC to provide services to over 15,000 neighbors in York County each year. From driving individuals to medical appointments, to helping with tax preparation and assisting seniors with chores around their home, volunteers extend YCCAC’s reach and leverage its limited dollars to have a meaningful impact on the lives of people throughout York County.

Whether it’s becoming a volunteer financial coach, helping individuals enroll in a health insurance plan, participating in a focus group, or providing administrative support, YCCAC welcomes all individuals and businesses who wish to share their time and talent with our organization and community.
