The $1.65 million sale of a home in Wiscasset was the second-priciest ever for the Lincoln County town.
F.O. Bailey Real Estate owner and broker David Jones oversaw the deal that closed last Friday.
In 2012, John Collins of Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty sold 28 Flood Ave. for $1.68 million.
Friday's sale was for a 6,500-square-foot home, on 2.5 acres at 100 Bath Road. The house was built in 1898 and is called Riverlawn Estate.
It has 14 rooms, including six bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, an open kitchen, living room, dining room, breakfast room, family and game room, sunroom and attached but independent in-law apartment.
The list price was $1.795 million.
The property went under contract after being on the market for a couple of couple months, said Jones.
“A lot of people were interested in the property,” he added.
Coincidentally, both seller and buyer have connections to Florida. The seller, who lived at the Wiscasset house for many years, is an interior decorator originally from Miami, he said. The buyer is from Fort Lauderdale.
Although a vintage build, the house is in excellent condition.
“It’s a really cool house,” he said. “The views and the landscaping are incredible. Very lush and very well-planned.”
Editor's note: This story has been updated to include the sale from 2012.
