Portland-based cPort Credit Union has promoted Kelsey Marquis to CFO and COO, and promoted Bill Whitmore to senior vice president of business and information technology services.
In her new role, Marquis will lead the growth and success of cPort, while providing inspiration and expertise for the team, the credit union said in a news release.
Marquis has been with the cPort since 2010 when she joined as a recent Bryant University graduate. She began her career as a teller and has held various other positions, including in accounting and finance. Her most recent position at the credit union was executive vice president and CFO.
Marquis went on to earn an MBA from St. Joseph’s College.
She actively collaborates with organizations including CA$H Maine, the Olympia Snow Leadership Institute, where she volunteers as a leader advisor, and the Financial Managers Society, where she serves as a board member.
“cPort is such a special place,” said Marquis. “To be a part of the impact we have on our members, employees, and communities we serve is an incredible honor. I am grateful to have been a part of the journey for the past 14 years, and I am extremely excited for what’s to come.”
Whitmore will oversee the growth of cPort’s business and information technology departments.
He has more than 35 years of IT and business leadership experience, and began his career with cPort in 2019. Most recently, he served as vice president of business services.
Whitmore received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Southern Maine and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
cPort Credit Union was founded in 1931 as the Federal Employees Credit Union of Maine and later changed its name to the Government Employees Credit Union of Maine. It has three branches in Portland, plus a branch in Augusta and one in Scarborough.
With assets of $410.3 million, cPort was ranked No. 9 among the largest Maine-based credit unions, according to the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
