200 additional jobs headed to Brunswick Landing

Less than one month after Boston-based home furnishing store Wayfair said that it would be bringing 500 jobs to Brunswick Landing, SaviLinx has announced that it would be hiring an additional 200 employees at its call center location at the business campus.

SaviLinx’s additional call center positions, which are scheduled to start in May, come after the contact center company landed an expanded contract with an unnamed insurance company client for which they provide customer service.

“We are delighted that our client has achieved measurable ROI from our team’s customer service and business process outsourcing solutions, and has chosen to expand their work with SaviLinx,” Heather Blease, founder and CEO of SaviLinx, said in a prepared statement. “Our focus on developing long-term partnerships to manage complex customer service interactions is a great fit for this client, and we look forward to growing our exceptional team.”

The Bangor Daily News reported that Maine has an outsized share of call center work due to employers being able to pay lower wages than the rest of the region, while still remaining competitive with other local forms of employment.

“These 200 new jobs are great news for the Midcoast region and great news for the Maine economy,” said U.S. Sen. Angus King in a prepared statement announcing the SaviLinx expansion. “The hard work of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority and everyone at Brunswick Landing continues to pay off as more and more businesses plant roots and grow here in the area. SaviLinx is an important part of that redevelopment effort, and I thank them for their continued investment and trust in the hard-working people of Maine.”
