5 companies selected for entreverge honors

Five companies received honors from the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce's young professional affiliate, Propel, on Friday.

The Bangor Daily News reported this year's entreverge awards, which highlight young entrepreneurs in the Portland area, were given to:

• Garbage to Garden, a company providing curbside compost pickup in the Portland area.

Pika Energy, a Westbrook-based manufacturer of residential-scale wind turbines.

• Mainely Burgers, a Scarborough-based food truck.

• Urban Farm Fermentory, a Portland-based producer of cider, mead and kombucha.

• Cairn Event Consulting, a Scarborough-based wedding and event planning firm.

As winners, the companies will receive free legal services from Pierce Atwood, merchant services from PowerPay, tax services from Purdy Powers & Co., financial services from Rienhard & Associates, professional accessories from Rogue Industries and TV advertising from WGME.
