Alcom expanding to South Dakota
The Winslow-based trailer manufacturer Alcom LLC has announced plans to open a plant in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Associated Press reported the company initially plans to hire 20 people to work at a new 54,000-square-foot building. The company said it expects to hire up to 180 people there in the next three years. Last year, the company opened a plant in Missoula, Mont., where it has 70 employees.
CEO Trapper Clark said in a statement that the company decided to expand to South Dakota because of building and workforce availability, location and around $90,000 in workforce development money from the state to train workers.
