Allagash Brewing expands warehousing, distribution

Portland-based Allagash Brewing Co. has expanded its warehouse and distribution space months after taking on the largest brew house expansion in the company's history.

Broker CBRE|The Boulos Co. announced in a press release Tuesday that Allagash has inked a deal to lease 70,132 square feet of a former L.L.Bean distribution facility on Portland's Warren Avenue.

That lease, set to begin in the first quarter of 2013, accounts for around half of the 155,000-square-foot building that will be split to accommodate the brewery's expansion.

Allagash's brew house expansion is set for completion in the spring of 2013 and will increase the company's production capacity by 45%, a move that brewery founder Rob Tod says will help meet demand in existing markets, most of which are out of state.
