Business group launches sustainability metric
Maine Businesses for Sustainability has launched a new online survey aimed at gauging environmental sustainability practices at businesses throughout the state.
The tool, provided through MBS and the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences, based in Massachusetts, asks Maine businesses to detail their own practices to generate a score that MBS says can help businesses benchmark their sustainability practices and the state's as a whole.
Both organizations are also boosting their sustainability consultation and marketing services through the launch of the new survey tool. MBS says the information collected will also generate the Maine Sustainability Index as a new measure of Maine businesses' impact on the environment.
