Allstate planning expansion in Maine

The Farmington, Conn.-based insurance agency Allstate Insurance Co. has plans to open five new agencies and add staff to existing agencies in Maine.

The Portland Press Herald reported the company plans to complete the expansion over the next year and is seeking five new agency owners and 15 salespeople to work at its 20 existing locations. The company employs around 70 people in Maine. The insurer says qualifying agency owner candidates should be at least mid-level managers with at least $50,000 to invest in the business.

Allstate’s Northeast Region Strategic Deployment Leader Ed Norcia told the paper that the company is targeting cities and areas showing economic growth and increasing demand.
